NOTE: Primary registration for this event is on EventBrite.
With journalists and developers converging on Washington, DC for the annual Online News Association conference, Hacks/Hackers is hosting a hackathon called Hacks/Hackers/Hacking.
We’re bringing together hacks and hackers (journalists and developers) from news organizations and the DC area to see what you can build over the course of the conference. With so many journalists coming from across the country, this is your chance to work with new people and experiment on projects outside the usual newsroom rush. If you’re attending a relevant pre-conference workshop, you can use what you’ve learned. Everything built during the event will be open sourced.
Teams will form on Thursday afternoon at the start of the ONA conference, with a session where people can pitch their ideas and find partners to work with. Then, you will research and code your projects, building up to demos and judging on Sunday afternoon, the day after the formal end of the conference.
Prizes will be awarded for the best projects, and food and refreshments for the day will be provided.
To register, visit the EventBrite page: Hacks/Hackers/Hacking at ONA
Hacks/Hackers/Hacking is sponsored by Daylife, a platform for building innovative news applications.
Thanks to weeveryone who has RSVPed here on Meetup so far! If you're planning to attend, we'd greatly appreciate if you could also register (free) on EventBrite in order to fill out the brief questionnaire so we know your skills:
